Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (Assistant Chief)
The Scope of Practice is specific to the duties and responsibilities of the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). The CRNA functions as a licensed practitioner within a defined/approved Scope of Practice performed under the collaboration of an Anesthesiologist. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is authorized to perform the following duties on a regular basis. The CRNA will recognize and report abnormal patient responses during anesthesia to the collaborating physician. In the absence of the anesthesiologist, review clinic chart, perform and document a pre-anesthetic assessment and recommend specific type of anesthesia.
