The nurse manager role in Home Infusion is seeking a self-starter who is willing to collaboratively build up this program. The team is searching for an experienced nurse with knowledge of infusion therapy and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be able to align UVA with third-party contractors to facilitate home therapy across Virginia and uphold UVA’s standard of care along with it. Initially, this role will not have staff directly reporting to the manager. As the program grows, so will the staff! Manages the operations of patient care area(s) in the provision of nursing care to patients and their families. A transformation leader who directs the activities of patient care and support staff.
Will help set up the home infusion nursing program for UVA to establish care for specialty infusions.
Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements specific to accreditation standards.
Manages the day-to-day operations of patient care in the provision of nursing care to patients and their families.
Reviews patient chart for admission criteria, assessing patient’s needs will be met, therapy is appropriate, and environment is safe.
A transformation leader who directs the activities of patient care and support staff.
Adjusts schedule according to patient flow.
Develops programs that address continuous quality improvement, system enhancement, streamlined processes, patient experience, and overall nurse performance.
Ensures that the highest quality of nursing care is provided to patients and their families.
Develops and manages partnerships with clinicians, physicians, and administrative counterparts to achieve common goals.
This role also includes clinical practice and staff development.
Will need to administer infusions and monitor patients in the home during treatment if needed and provide education to patients.
In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Position Compensation Range: $110,697.60–$147,680.00 annually
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program. Master's degree in a related field within 5 years of hire.
Experience: At least 3 years of progressively more responsible experience as a registered nurse in a patient care environment required. Experience in caring for wide-age and diverse groups. Proficient in establishing peripheral intravenous (IV) access.
Licensure: License to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia required. American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider BLS certification required. Valid Virginia driver’s license required for managers with responsibility for operations in multiple locations. Must have applicable specialty certification at hire or within 3 years.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The job does occasionally require traveling some distance.
