IU Health's Adult Medical Liver/GI unit at University Hospital is fast-paced and highly specialized. This unit treats patients with chronic liver disease, pancreatitis, pre/post liver and kidney transplant patients, and patients who have undergone ERCP procedure. Our nurses use critical thinking as they support high acuity patients. Nurses will build upon of variety of skills such as IV's, NG placement, G, J, GJ tubes, enteral/parental feeds, etc.

• Patient and family education
• Critical thinking skills
• Multitasking/Prioritization

Qualifications:

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
