Seattle Cancer Care Alliance brings together the leading research teams and cancer specialists of Fred Hutch, Seattle Children’s, and UW Medicine. This extraordinary group’s sole mission is the pursuit of better, longer, richer lives for our patients. In support of this mission, SCCA is physically growing the clinic footprint and expanding into Care Neighborhoods. The Care Neighborhood puts the patient at the center of our work and brings the care team together to more effectively care for the patient. In preparation for the expansion, the GI Clinic at SCCA will implement the new model of care in two Care Neighborhoods beginning Spring 2020. The clinicians testing this model will be innovators in their field and will work together to create a better patient and staff experience.
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) in the GI Care Neighborhood provides direct and indirect care to GI Oncology patients, including those participating in research. The CNC will work with other members of the GI Care Team including Physicians, Advanced Practice Providers, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, research coordinators, and non-clinic staff to provide collaborative, patient centered care. The CNC will build rapport and trust with the patient population and will be expected to communicate and work effectively with other members of the team.
