Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Sage Infusion is looking for an experienced patient care driven Infusion Nurse looking to join a rising retail healthcare startup. This position is full-time with benefits and will be based in Tampa, FL.
As the clinical face of the retail infusion center, you will have the primary responsibility for Infusion medical treatment, response management and follow up care for our patients after receiving a physician order. In addition, the Infusion Nurse will administer and monitor patients in our premises during treatment and provide the necessary education on treatment regimen, condition management and treatment self-administration when appropriate. The Infusion Nurse is an integral member of a multi-disciplinary team and works closely with the intake coordinator and other clinical staff.
Receives Initial Order from referring provider and processes such Order
Enters new patient demographics, insurance info. Scans and tags initial paperwork into medical record
Sends applicable alerts on all new referrals
Communicates confirmation of receipt of the Order to the referral source
Contacts patient and works with them for completion of Patient Admission paperwork
Provides timely acceptance and completion of new referrals
Notifies clinical and sales managers of pending referrals
Responsible for initiating and tracking new referral checklist for completion
Obtains referring MD notes for insurance authorizations
Performs benefits investigations, including but not limited:
Checking insurance eligibility
Obtaining prior authorizations
Enrolling patients in patient assistance programs
Collects outstanding balances from insurers and patients
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly in a warm and helpful manner
Takes initiative to present ideas and suggestions to management; follows appropriate organizational lines in resolving questions, concerns and ideas
Utilizes appropriate systems for the purposes of communicating and documenting patient information.
Assists clinical staff in phone communication
Promotes Sage Infusion services by providing quality, comprehensive services to all patients through a team based approach
Gives high priority to patient satisfaction, helps schedule their infusion appointment, welcomes them when they arrive and anticipates their needs
Responds promptly and courteously to all patient inquiries or problems
Provides excellent internal and external customer service by ensuring work meets quality standards; sets high goals or standards of performance for self; takes pride in his/her work and completes work on schedule
Demonstrates support and willingness to support sales activities
Demonstrates reliability and follow-through on all assigned tasks to ensure work meets quality standards.
Performs other duties as required
Required: Associates degree
Preferred: graduate from an accredited school of nursing and active RN license or Pharmacy Technician license
Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in the infusion/IVIG industry
Experience working with all commercial and government payer types, including Medicare/Medicaid
Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorization and pre-certification procedures
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Basic computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
