The nurse practitioner position (NP) effectively organizes the provision of care in the Ambulatory Infusion Center (AIC), consistent with the Mission of MHS and SMC. The employee assists with the preparation of the strategic business plan for the department, development of financial goals, and the plan for delivery excellent clinical care in a safe and healing environment. The customers include the physician, patient and family, payers and other internal and external customers. The employee supports management in achieving a high- quality program, for both clinical outcomes and customer service in an efficient and fiscally prudent manner. The AIC NP is knowledgeable of the latest clinical trends, regulatory requirements and reimbursement patterns for their program. This position requires involvement with multiple hospital departments and members of SMC medical staff.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in oncology
Recent Infusion Services experience required, which includes extensive experience with peripheral and central venous access and infusion devices
Demonstrates good presentation and writing skills
Above average skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Excellent grammar and clarity in articulating in English
Current California nursing license required
Master of science in nursing (MSN) with NP required
ONS chemotherapy certification required
OCN preferred; required after 12 months of employment
Current BLS certificate
Current ACLS certificate
