Organizes and administers individualized, age specific, professional nursing care to patients within the Frederick B. Cohen, MD Comprehensive Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. Provides quality nursing care in collaboration with the medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of the hospital and the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes the nursing process to provide age specific treatments, patient and family teaching and discharge planning. Participates in the department's performance improvement evaluation activities. Current New Jersey licensure as a Professional Registered Nurse in good standing required. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. One year prior experience as a Registered Nurse in an Oncology unit (in-patient or outpatient) strongly preferred. Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification or acquisition within 90 days of hire and maintenance of certification required. Intravenous therapy/Venipuncture certification or acquisition within 90 days of hire and maintenance of certification required. Central Line and Port Management certification or acquisition within 90 days of hire and maintenance of certification required. BLS (Basic Life Support) Health Care Provider Certification or acquisition within 90 days of hire and maintenance of certification required.
