Infection Preventionist (Construction)
In this role, you will act as a consultant, educator, and facilitator in the coordination of surveillance, prevention and control efforts to ensure the right of patients, healthcare workers and visitors to a healthful environment. Collecting and verifying data specific to patient outcomes of infection and environmental hazard relative to potential infection prevention and transmission; coordinating and communicating infection prevention and control practices throughout the organization; and helping the organization to fulfill its legal responsibility to safeguard public health will be involved. In addition, you will collaborate as a consultant, educator and facilitator with the organization's construction/renovation management team to ensure infection prevention recommendations and requirements are met for construction and renovation projects, including the pre-design, design, construction, commissioning, and activation phases.
BSN in Nursing with current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Illinois or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Public Health, or related field.
Certification in Infection Prevention.
Minimum 3 years of experience in infection prevention with a focus on construction and renovation projects.
Knowledge of design and construction standards/guidelines (ASHRAE/ASHE, FGI, IDPH, etc.) and requirements to prevent healthcare associated infections associated with construction renovation projects.
