Position: Part-Time Hours: 20 hours a week, 2-10s preferred, but flexible Locations: Must be willing to cover shifts at Infusion Centers in Blaine, MN, Lake Elmo, MN, and Minneapolis, MN, as needed.
Responsible for all aspects of patient care specific to infusion therapy
Use of appropriate infection control and aseptic techniques
Medication preparation (ad-mix)
Peripheral IV placement and Port-a-cath access
Administer IVIG, Depacon, Solu-Medrol, Tysabri and other infusion therapies
Pre-administration screening for, and administration of MRI contrast medication
Assess and monitor patient condition and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
Administer pre-intra-post procedure medications
Coordinate effective handling of emergencies arising from contrast and infusion medication administration
Communicate patient status to medical personnel as needed
Provide support coverage for radiology patients
Accurate and professional electronic medical record documentation
Registered nurse in good standing with the Minnesota Board of Nursing
RN experience in a clinic or hospital setting
Possess verbal and written skills that facilitate effective multidisciplinary communication with physicians, patients, staff, and other individuals
Team player and have the ability to work independently
Professional and positive customer service attitude
Detail oriented and able to multi-task
Two years of direct patient care in a clinical setting
Skills necessary for the administration of infusion therapies and radiologic contrast, including peripheral IV
Knowledge of technologies associated with infusion therapies highly recommended
Knowledge of pharmacology, indications, and contraindications for the use of contrast agents
Experience in infusion therapy
