Department of Radiology-Interventional Radiology: About 3,500 procedures are performed annually in the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Section. The cases are performed at three locations, Vanderbilt University Hospital, Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and One Hundred Oaks. Besides the standard vascular, diagnostic, and interventional procedures (angioplasty, thrombolysis, embolization, filter insertion, foreign body removal, etc.), the Vascular and Interventional Radiology Section is also responsible for biliary procedures (percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram, biliary stenting, biliary stricture balloon dilatation and percutaneous stone removal) and interventional uroradiological procedures (percutaneous nephrostomies, uretheral stenting). The section also performs over 500 interventional oncology procedures such as chemoembolizations, radioembolizations and cryoabaltions.
Vanderbilt University Hospital is also the Level I trauma referral for all of Middle Tennessee, providing patients with considerable experience in angiography for blunt and penetrating injuries.
Your Role :
This role of the LPN in Radiology is to support vacancies in the IV Cubby. IV Cubby LPN position is central to providing outpatients with vascular access for CT and MRI guided contrast studies. This includes peripheral intravenous access, lab draws, port-a-cath, average screening of 80 pts a day
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program and 1 year relevant experience
Experience in IV Therapy
Radiology experience a plus
Supports the licensed healthcare team members in the provision of patient care to include direct patient care, providing healthcare information to patients/families, and following established plan of care. Works in close collaboration with the RN or a licensed healthcare team member to evaluate the patient's plan of care and progress toward goal attainment. All patient care activities are undertaken with the delegation/supervision of a licensed professional in accordance with VUMC standards and licensure regulations.
